Melton Hill Lake is surrounded by Anderson, Knox, Roane and Loudon counties in East Tennessee. It covers 5,690 acres, 173 miles of shoreline and runs 57 miles in length from Melton Hill Dam to Norris Lake Dam. The main town you will see is mainly Oak Ridge, but also Clinton, Lenoir City, and also Knoxville. Melton Hill is the only dam in the tributary reservoir system with a navigation lock and is considered a run-of-river reservoir, meaning that water is passed through the reservoir without being stored long term. The water level fluctuates about four feet on a daily basis.
